Benefits of the ingredients (source)

Tofu: Tofu is rich in calcium and vitamin D. It provides a good source of protein.
Orange juice is high in many nutrients, including vitamin C, folate, and potassium. They are high in antioxidants and support the immune system.

Variations

The main dish is tofu here. I don’t have any big ideas for variations other than the flavors you are mixing for the orange sauce. You can add a different kind of sweetener, spice, or vinegar.
Store-bought orange juice can be used for a quick version. You can bake the tofu.

Tips for making crispy tofu

Pat dry the tofu with a clean cloth or multiple paper towels and keep some weight on it. This process ensures to remove the excess moisture in tofu. If you are using tofu frequently, invest in a good tofu press that makes your work simple.
Once the tofu is dry, add arrowroot powder or cornstarch. Season if you like. Combine well that the tofu is evenly coated in flour.
Rice flour works fine too. To season you can use salt and pepper. Red chili powder, sriracha, or chilly sauce can also be added.

How to serve orange tofu?

Orange tofu can be served with plain rice, noodles or you can have it as such. I served with Cranberry fried rice.

Can we meal-prep Orange tofu?

Yes. We can partially prepare this ahead. Prepare the orange sauce and store it in a container. Pat dry the tofu and mix the flour and keep in Ziploc bags, but this keeps for only a day.
While preparing, shallow fry (or deep fry, or bake) the tofu. Heat the sauce and combine well.
